Q:  How dangerous are the tools to use?
A:  Safety is always the top priority at Gabe’s Makerspace. Many of our tools include built-in safety features — for example, the table saw stops instantly if it contacts skin, and our small, quiet, battery-powered chop saw is beginner-friendly.  Q: What type of donations do you accept?

A: Gabe's Makerspace greatly appreciates the following donations:

1.) Non-functional items for disassembly in our Deconstruction Lab Class; the more moving parts; the better! Typewriters, sewing machines, snowblowers, autonomous vacuums, rototillers, record players, are all perfect to learn how they work by taking them apart.  Items we do not accept include dehumidifiers (contains freon), microwaves (contains charged capacitors) and vacuums (generally not enough moving parts)

2.) Scrap wood.  We tend to go through a lot of wood as trial and error is a great way to learn how to build. So we'll happily accept those random old boards or plywood you have been storing for years!

3.) Cash/Venmo.  Gabe's Makerspace focuses on inclusivity, so we don't want cost to prohibit a student from being able to learn.  100% of all monetary donations will go towards students who need it.
